Santana Scott, the first CASMAN Academy Student of the Week for this school year, is pictured standing next to the street sign naming the school driveway in her honor. Teacher comments about Santana include, "She is a great self-advocate and has already made up most of what she missed in those first days (before she changed classes).  She has come to see me before and after school and is always looking for ways to better her own learning. She always has a great big smile on her face when she is in class.  I have also observed her helping other students around her, for example, helping another student with a graphic organizer.  She is always engaged and participatory", "She has showed a lot of initiative in my Geometry class.  She is always engaged and willing to participate and is helpful with others, as well.  She is always smiling in the hallways and is ready to get to work right away when the bell rings", "She comes into my class ready to learn, is very respectful and hard working, and even though she had to drop one of my classes, is very flexible to change.  Her attitude is always positive. and to me, that spells a great student!!" and "Santana is one of those students that just oozes enthusiasm. Even though she has only been a student here a week, she seems to have a deep and positive rapport with everyone already." Congratulations, Santana!
